FINISHING

Today, exactly 2 years ago, we arrived in Portugal. Today, 2 years ago, our new life began. It is therefore time to draw an interim conclusion. To cut a long story short, the decision to go to Portugal was and is absolutely right. We have never questioned or regretted it at any time. We have found here what we were looking for. The best conditions for continuing to live happily and contentedly in our new homeland of choice.

The next important stage, the completion of our house, is approaching. Equipped with a lot of optimism, we expect to finally move in at the end of November. In the worst case, our goal of being "in" by Christmas will be achieved.

In the week beginning 3 October, many important things happen. Windows and doors will be installed. Our "Carpinteiro", Tony, has reported finished, we have treated everything with linseed oil, the house can be closed up.

Also, the vacuum tube collectors for the solar thermal and the heat pump are being installed.

The bathrooms will be tiled with the "Mosaicos", then the sanitary items will follow. This week, our house will also be connected to the public sewage system. Now, if only the electrician would get a move on and the pool would be completely finished... Here it hangs completely incomprehensibly at 90%.

In the meantime, we have already started planting our garden. When things really get going for us later, we won't have to worry about it any more.

I won't mention the numerous "little things" explicitly, they'll be fine.

So you see, things are looking quite good, even if our impatience is growing a little with each passing day. We are really looking forward to moving into our house!
